MyGeneLog™ (the "Software") is a desktop application distributed by narubox™ that parses a genome file you provide (VCF, or a 23andMe/AncestryDNA raw export) and matches it against a reference dataset of published genetic findings. It runs entirely on the user's machine and does not upload the genome file or any analysis result anywhere.
MyGeneLog is informational only. It does not diagnose any medical condition, does not predict when a condition will occur, and does not recommend medication or treatment. It is not a substitute for advice from a doctor or a licensed genetic counselor.
narubox™ grants you a free, perpetual, non-exclusive license to install and use the Software, on any number of machines, for your own use. No purchase or activation step is required.
The Software does not collect telemetry, user analytics, or copies of your genome file or analysis results. Everything happens in memory on the user's machine and never leaves it — there is no upload step. The Software makes exactly two outbound calls, neither carrying user- or genome-identifying data: an optional version check against the public install repository, and a fetch of the public reference-data feed from mygenelog.com (used to recognize newly-added variants without an app update). The Software is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to the warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and noninfringement.
In no event shall narubox™ or the authors be liable for any claim, damages, or other liability arising from the use of the Software, whether in an action of contract, tort, or otherwise.
You may not use the Software, or any information it surfaces, to make medical decisions without consulting a qualified professional, or to make decisions about a third party without their knowledge and consent. You remain solely responsible for how you use the information the Software provides.
The Software may be decompiled or inspected for personal security-audit purposes. Redistribution of modified binaries is not permitted.
narubox™ may update these Terms for future versions of the Software. Changes apply only to versions released after the Effective date above; the Terms that shipped with your version remain in force for that version.
