Instead of holding transthyretin together, vutrisiran turns down how much of it the liver makes. For the heart, genotype does not matter; for the nerves, it does.
Vutrisiran (Amvuttra) works differently: it is a silencer that tells the liver to make less transthyretin in the first place. It is an injection given by a health professional every 3 months. In the US it is approved for the heart form of ATTR, wild-type or hereditary, and for the nerve damage of hereditary ATTR, which does need a TTR variant. In its heart trial of 655 patients, it lowered the risk of death and heart events (hazard ratio 0.72). Its label also advises a daily vitamin A supplement at the recommended amount. Whether to take it is decided with a specialist, and nothing here is a reason to start, stop or change a medicine.

These are the positions in your own file that carry the genes above. Not every gene in a guideline is one we report — where that is the case the gene appears above without a variant here, and the note says so.

For the heart, no: its US label covers the heart form of ATTR, wild-type or hereditary. For nerve damage, yes: that use is approved only in hereditary ATTR, which comes from a TTR variant.
In its heart trial of 655 patients, followed for up to 36 months, it lowered the risk of death and heart events compared with placebo (hazard ratio 0.72).
Transthyretin helps carry vitamin A in the blood, and lowering it lowers vitamin A too, so the label advises a daily supplement at the recommended amount. Whether to take vutrisiran is decided with a specialist; nothing here is a reason to start, stop or change a medicine.
